Steinway & Fisher News

Lead in dental products is becoming an increasing problem and most of that probelm arises from dnetal labs overseas. Crowns, bridges, veneers and other aspects and products used in the dental industry can contain as much as 20% lead an other toxic materials with less than 1% of product being tested by the FDA. This mean the dental industry offshore is effectively unregulated.

The American Dental Association recommends that before any work is done you ask the following questions of your dentist.

  • Do you fashion your own crowns, bridges and other dental materials in the office or buy them from a dental lab?
  • Where is the dental lab located?
  • Does the lab outsource crowns or bridges to a foreign country.
  • What materials are going to be used in my restoration?
  • What other options do I have?
